Padmanaba Reddiyar founder of the Sri Rama Internet Browsing Centre, Started Computer Centre in Acharapakkam only for the purpose of internet browsing. Later, it was named as CIT Computer Centre and it has been doing its service continuously for the people of Acharapakkam since 2004, It has been expanding its service in the field of Computer Education.
In 2007, It trained TNEB workers to operate the computer by using Linux and it has given course completion certificates to 90 TNEB staff. In the same year, CIT Computer Institution had computerized all the data and documents of TNEB Achrapakkam Branch. For which, The District TNEB Department had given Certificate to CIT centre.
In 2013 CIT had taught basic Computer Education for the Panchyat President and Secretary of all Panchayat in Acharapakkam and Chittamoor Block under the Government Scheme of SIRD.
In 2014, In Acharapakkam Town Panchyat , for BPL families Basic Computer Education was taught by CIT Computer Education was taught by CIT Computer Education Institution.

இன்று மிகச்சிறந்த கணினி மையம் என்று பெயர் பெற்ற சி.ஐ.டி கணினி மையம் ஆனது 21.08.2001 அன்று மரியாதைக்கும், போற்றுதலுக்கும் உரிய திரு.P.R. பத்மநாப ரெட்டியார் அவர்களால் ஸ்ரீ ரமா இணைய மையம் என்ற பெயரில் துவக்கப்பட்டது. இந்த மையம் முதலில் இணைய வசதிக்காக மட்டுமே பயன்படுத்தப்பட்டது.
பின்பு 2004 ஆம் ஆண்டு விரிவாக்கப்பட்ட இந்த மையம் சி.ஐ.டி கம்ப்யூட்டர் சென்டர் என்ற பெயரில் மாற்றம் செய்யப்பட்டு கணினி கல்வியும் தொடங்கப்பட்டன.
பின்பு 2007 ஆம் ஆண்டு தமிழ்நாடு மின்வாரிய ஊழியர்கள் சுமார் 90 நபர்களுக்கு LINUX இயக்க முறை பற்றி வகுப்புகள் நடத்தப்பட்டு சான்றிதழ் வழங்கப்பட்டன. பின்பு அதே ஆண்டு தமிழ்நாடு மின்சார வாரியத்தில் அச்சிறுபாக்கம் கோட்டத்தில் சுமார் 50,000 மின் இணைப்புகள் கணினிமயமாக்கும் பணியை குறுகிய காலத்தில் சிறப்பாக செய்தமைக்கு மாவட்ட அளவில் பாராட்டுகள் பெறப்பட்டன.
மேலும் 2013 ஆம் ஆண்டு SIRD மூலம் அச்சிறுபாக்கம், சித்தாமூர் ஒன்றியத்திற்குட்பட்ட சுமார் 100 க்கு மேற்பட்ட கிராம பஞ்சாயத்து தலைவர்கள் மற்றும் செயலாளர்களுக்கு அடிப்படை கணினி சிறப்பாக கற்பிக்கப்பட்டது. பின்பு 2014 ஆம் ஆண்டு SJSRY திட்டத்தின் கீழ் அச்சிறுபாக்கம் பேரூராட்சியை சார்ந்த வறுமை கோட்டிற்கு கீழ் உள்ளவர்களுக்கு இலவச கணினி பயிற்சி அளிக்கப்பட்டது. இதுபோன்று அரசாங்க திட்டங்கள் சிறப்பாக செய்துவருவது மட்டும் இல்லாமல் கிராமபுறத்தில் உள்ள ஏழைஎளிய மாணவர்களுக்கு குறைந்த கட்டணத்தில் கணினி கல்வி அளித்து வருகிறோம்.
